Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience

Multimedia

The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology is involved in developing some major multimedia teaching programs.

An@tomedia has been developed by Chris Briggs, Norm Eizenberg, Priscilla Barker and Ivica Grkovic. It is a comprehensive interactive program of anatomy, suitable for use by any health professional during their training as well as by clinicians in practice.

The Patient Under the Microscope is a suite of programs developed by Virginia and Howard Grossman from the Departments of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Pathology. These CAL programs are delivered in the form of self-paced, interactive tutorials that explore the relationship between cells, tissues and disease. The Skin Atlas is also available and is a functional atlas of human skin and its disorders.

All of these programs are already in intensive use in teaching programs in both the Faculty of Science and in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
An@tomedia is also available for purchase by individuals and may be used in teaching or research.
